On Sunday morning we offer Sunday School for ages 2 through adult at 9:30. Our worship service begins at 10:45 (10:15 on Easter Sunday) and lasts approximately an hour and 15 minutes. If needed, nursery care is provided during both.
Our goal in worship is to engage both our hearts and our minds in genuine adoration toward God. Our service can be described as “blended”, using the best of both traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs. Many of the songs we sing in worship come from our hymnal, Hymns of Grace. We incorporate the use of a variety of instruments, including piano, guitar, bass, and orchestral instruments. Our worship service is liturgical and includes elements such as a Call to Worship, Confession of Sin, Assurance of Pardon, Affirmation of Faith, and Scripture Readings. We believe that the preaching of God’s Word is central to all that we do, making the sermon an important part of every service.
We believe it is important for children to worship God alongside their families as they grow in their faith. A nursery is available, but we encourage parents to bring their children into the service with them. We also have a cry room available with a view of the sanctuary for parents with young children. Children in the service are given a children’s bulletin with activities to help them follow the sermon.
At our church you will find some people dressed casually and some wearing a coat and tie. Feel free to wear whatever makes you comfortable. 1 Samuel 16:7 says, “Man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” Our desire is to do the same.
Offering a portion of what we have earned back to God is an important part of worship, but as a visitor there is no expectation placed upon you to give to the work of Trinity Fellowship Church. During the service an offering plate will be passed down the row – feel free to pass it on to the next person without obligation. Better yet, fill out a visitor card and put it in the plate so we will know you visited!
PCA stands for the Presbyterian Church in America, the denomination of which we are a part. There are many denominations which are called “Presbyterian.” The name is related to the Greek word for “elder” and refers to the fact that our churches are led by a session or council of elders. These elders are Godly men who have been elected from the congregation and ordained to serve as leaders. The PCA was started in 1973 in order to have a Presbyterian denomination that has a high view of God’s inerrant Word, that is clear in teaching Reformed theology, and that is uncompromisingly missional in our outlook to the world.
At its root, it is the theology that came out of the Protestant Reformation. You may have heard of the Five Solas of the Reformation, sola is a Latin term meaning “only” or “alone.” The Reformers affirmed that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone and that the rule for our beliefs is Scripture alone, and all of this is to the glory of God alone.
Yes. We celebrate two sacraments that Jesus instituted for the church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, or communion. Communion is typically served on the first Sunday of the month. Because it is the Lord’s Table, we welcome all baptized Christians to receive communion with us, who are willing to forsake their sin and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and have been admitted to the Lord’s Table at this or any other Christian church. If this does not describe you, we ask you to let the elements pass you by.
Our church doesn’t set an age requirement on anyone to take part in communion, but we do ask that if you would like your children to participate, that they first meet with a church leader to talk about their faith in Christ and what communion means.
Every second Sunday of the month, we typically have a potluck Fellowship Lunch. This is a great time to get to know members of the congregation. We also have Bible studies for men and women that meet weekly. Small Groups meet twice a month at the church or in member’s homes. Our youth participate in RYM conferences in the summer and the Covenant Presbytery Youth Conference in the winter, as well as other events during the year. Throughout the year, we have various fellowship events as well. Click here to view our church calendar.
